Siemens unveils next generation of Sinamics G drives on a common platform
Siemens has introduced a next-generation Sinamics G drive family for continuous-motion applications, built on a common technology platform and comprising the G200, G210C, G210, G210X and G220.
Siemens has introduced a next generation of Sinamics G drives for continuous-motion applications, built on a common technology platform. According to the company’s announcement of 28 October 2026, the portfolio rests on three principles: security by design, integrated safety functions, and digitalization for transparency and intelligent maintenance.
Announced by Siemens Digital Industries in Erlangen, Germany, the new generation brings general-purpose industrial duty, compact machines and infrastructure applications such as pumps, fans and compressors under one unified drive family.
Five drives, one family
Siemens lists the members of the new generation as follows:
- Sinamics G200: a new drive for general-purpose industrial applications.
- Sinamics G210C: for compact machines that need high power density and overload capability.
- Sinamics G210: a versatile general-purpose drive for moving, positioning and processing tasks.
- Sinamics G210X: adds dedicated functions for pump, fan, compressor and other infrastructure applications.
At the top of the range sits the flexible high-end Sinamics G220, first introduced in 2023, which Siemens describes as the anchor of the generation.
Cybersecurity and integrated safety
All drives in the new generation will be ready for the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), Siemens says. Cybersecurity capabilities reach up to Security Level Capability 2 (SL-C 2) under IEC 62443-4-2, while the integrated safety functions support up to Safety Integrity Level 3 (SIL3).
Engineering and data
On the engineering side, the company points to seamless TIA Portal integration, an integrated web server and a unified engineering and operating concept across the family. Drive and operating data can be shared via the Ethernet-based OPC UA standard for asset and energy management, condition monitoring and predictive maintenance.
The announcement does not give power ranges or availability dates for the new models.
