Siemens has added the Sinamics E210 converter and the Simotics E-1EE1 servomotors to its extra-low-voltage (ELV) drive portfolio. According to the company’s announcement of 2 November 2026, the two products together form a coordinated drive solution for battery-powered mobile applications such as automated guided vehicles (AGVs), autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) and driverless transport systems.

Siemens says the solution is intended to reduce development and integration effort, simplify the implementation of safety functions and provide a future-ready basis for mobile applications. Both products integrate into the TIA Portal engineering environment and Siemens’ Simove modular system.

Sinamics E210: direct connection to 24 V and 48 V batteries

The Sinamics E210 is a compact, regenerative converter designed for 24 V and 48 V battery systems. It can drive traction and wheel motors as well as other axes, including steering, lifting and auxiliary functions.

According to the announcement, the converter connects directly to the ELV battery, removing the need for additional voltage conversion. It features integrated safety functions, PROFIsafe support and PROFINET IRT communication.

Simotics E-1EE1: safety applications up to SIL 2

The new Simotics E-1EE1 servomotors are offered in shaft heights 40 to 63, covering higher power and torque ranges. They use an absolute 14-bit BiSS-C safety encoder and an internal dual-channel design that supports safety applications up to SIL 2.

An electronic nameplate allows the Sinamics E210 to read motor data automatically. Siemens lists holding brakes, several gearbox options and flexible connection options among the available choices for the motors.

Lower integration effort for mobile systems

Siemens states that offering the converter and motor as one coordinated package reduces integration effort for manufacturers of battery-powered mobile systems. The announcement does not give a market launch date or regional availability schedule.
