Vecna Robotics: Closure of $50M Series B for logistics automation

2019 RBR50 company Vecna Robotics, raised $50 million for funding Series B. The fund will be used for recruitment and develop and scale products for facing the rising demand in logistics automation.

Wide spectrum participation

Blackhorn Ventures led Series B. Participators have been Highland Capital Partners and Fontinalis Partners as new existing entities in addition to Drive Capital and Tectonic Ventures as present. Vecna Robotics, which industry veteran Daniel Theobald founded, made the closure a $13.5 million Series A in August 2018.

Vecna Robotics develops autonomous mobiles robots (AMRs) for materials handling, including conveyors, pallet jacks and tuggers. It also has a fleet management and software platform, Pivotal, that distributes real time tasks, adjusts work pipelines, implements intra worker-robot information sharing and integrates with legacy automation, piece picker robots, WMS, and MES systems. It can also convert legacy machines into AMRs. It cooperates with UniCarriers Americas, which is a part of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, to form a chain of AMRs for warehouses, distribution centers, and manufacturing venıes.
